The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is a fundamental program designed for individuals, including minors, who aspire to possess non-restricted firearms (most rifles and shot guns). It serves as an introductory course to provide essential knowledge and skills in firearm ownership.
In compliance with the Firearms Act, a specialized firearms safety course was established and implemented on February 1, 1999, to specifically address the handling and usage of restricted firearms, primarily handguns. As mandated by the legislation, individuals hoping to obtain restricted firearms are required to successfully complete both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC), along with passing the corresponding tests.
