Blackjack Challenge

October 11th, starting at 1 pm or 2:30 pm depending on which division you are competing in.

Divisions:

Service Rifle – 223, 308 

Open Class – any centerfire calibre

Summary of the event:

You will have 12 shots to hit 6 of the playing cards on the target which progressively get smaller to score blackjack! Once you hit all 6 targets, there will be 3 bonus Joker targets to increase your score. 

How to win:

Time limit:

  • Shooters will have 1 minute and 30 seconds to complete their attempt IF the shooter has 1 or 2 magazines that can hold 10 rounds or more in total. 
  • If the shooter has only 1 five round magazine, that person will be given 2 minutes and 15 seconds to complete their attempt to ensure fair competition with adequate time to reload.

Scoring:

For the first six targets, any shot that lands inside the playing card is a hit and will be counted towards their score. Shooters must move from the largest to the smallest targets in order.

  • Ace of spades – 1 point
  • 2 of clubs – 2 points
  • 3 of diamonds – 3 points
  • 4 of hearts – 4 points
  • 5 of spades – 5 points
  • 6 of clubs – 6 points

Once the shooter gets to 6, they have scored blackjack! With their remaining rounds, the joker cards are now in play. A hit inside the joker card is worth 21, another blackjack, and if the shot hits the joker in the center of the card, it is a bonus point!

Prize:

  • The pot will be split into thirds and the winner of each division will win a third

Tie Breaker:

  • Should there be a tie in scores on the podium, total time will be used as the first tie breaker
  • In the event that is also the same, a re-shoot will be the deciding factor of who wins the place.
